ABOUT US

GOandDONATE.com is a unique online venture developed by local entrepreneurs Andrew and Geraldine Sanders, Jon Barette and Penny Bromley. As the “Island’s Community Travel and Shopping Website”, the site features a broad range of leading travel businesses - from airline to ferry, hotel to car hire and package holiday companies as well as many High Street names and online favourites within the retail sections. The concept is simple...when you click on the site, and then on to your chosen supplier’s link, you are re-directed to that supplier’s site to continue with your booking or purchase. By going through GOandDONATE.com, 80% of the commission GOandDONATE.com receives from the supplier for your booking or purchase will be donated to any one of the featured local beneficiaries of your choice.

So, for just one more click, you can raise funds for your community without it costing you, or the beneficiary, a penny! With more than 300 beneficiaries already featured on the site, ranging from local schools and churches, to theatre groups, charities and sports groups, a huge cross section of the community will benefit from this simple concept. The more the site is used, the more the community will directly benefit at no cost to the user.

The site is a one-stop shop for your travel arrangements and online purchases. In addition to the featured travel suppliers, it also offers “when you’re there” links, connecting you to anything from theatre bookings to local attractions and “before you go” to purchase items you wish to take on your journey.

The shopping section covers 15 categories of products you would want to buy online including Health & Beauty, Entertainment, Computing, Electricals and of course Fashion for all ages and styles.

GOandDONATE.com is an ideal opportunity for individuals as well as businesses to support local community and charitable organisations at no additional cost, either through a one-off personal booking/purchase or for repeat corporate bookings and purchases. If all business bookings and purchases are made though the site, it can become part of that company’s overall Corporate Social Responsibility programme, using the funds raised to increase donations to identified charities of the year. Whether you are a big or small business annual travel arrangements and online purchases accumulate substantial amounts of commission, which previously would have gone directly to the hosting site rather than to helping a good cause along the way.

The GOandDONATE.com business raises its working capital through the remaining 20% commission generated from each booking as well as through advertising space sold on the site. All donations regardless of their size are tax-free for the beneficiary.

Because each booking is unique, and will cost a different amount each time, there is no average donation generated. However, the following examples give you a flavour of the types of donations that result from different bookings:

For a family of 4 (mum and dad 2 children) in a 3 star Cypriot hotel for one week

How much money does an online purchase produce?
